The Shree Motilal Kanhaiyalal Fomra Institute of Technology, Chennai, organized SMKFIT Achiever’s Day on April 12, 2013. The management of SMKFIT valued the talents in faculty members and students and provide them with opportunities to excel. In order to encourage and motivate the faculty members and students with young and energetic minds for their extra-ordinary, outstanding unique performance in the Anna University Examinations conducted during Nov-Dec 2012, SMKFIT felicitated the achievers by honouring their achievement. Dr. M. Jagannath, Professor and Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, gave the introduction speech about the programme. Dr. R. Raja, Principal, delivered the Welcome address. Shri. Srikumar Fomra, Correspondent delivered the Presidential address and presented awards and shields to the achievers of SMKFIT. In the award ceremony, 41 faculty members and 108 students received various awards for their academic achievements in the Anna University Examination conducted during Nov-Dec 2012. The ceremony was ended with Vote of Thanks by Dr. A. Suresh, Vice Principal.

A national level technical carnival AKZON13 was organized by the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the SMK Fomra Institute of Technology, Kelambakkam, Chennai. The function was inaugurated by around 8.45am amidst various dignitaries starting from Principal, Dr. R. Raja, Vice Principal, Dr. A. Suresh and the Head of Biomedical Engineering Department, Dr. M. Jagannath. The proceedings were released by Mr. S. Raman, Chief Executive of Bio Vision Systems, Chennai. Mr. S. Raman addressed the students, a brief overview of Biomedical Engineering and the personalities expected off the budding engineers. He also insisted that life is based upon three vital departments of engineering courses namely ECE, MECH and EEE. He also stressed the fact that The Department of Biomedical Engineering does not have any source of recession and that it is the part and parcel of all healthcare systems. Dr. M. Jagannath, the head of BME department underlined the fact that merit is crucial for every engineer by felicitating the Rank Holders of Biomedical Engineering Department in the Anna University Examination.The Correspondent, Shri. NS2 is an open-source event-driven simulator designed specifically for research in computer communication networks. Since its inception in 1989, NS2 has continuously gained tremendous interest from industry, academia, and government. Having been under constant investigation and enhancement for years, NS2 now contains modules for numerous network components such as routing, transport layer protocol, application, etc. To investigate network performance, researchers can simply use an easy-to-use scripting language to configure a network, and observe results generated by NS2.
